What makes Lupus spanking films so good?

There are a few reasons why Lupus Pictures spanking films are considered the best in the genre. Here are a few of the most commonly cited ones.

Strictness

Most Lupus Pictures spanking films portray incredibly strict canings and spankings. When they dabble with other punishments these too are applied with a degree of strictness that makes for extremely compelling viewing.

Production Values

Lupus spanking films had proper sets, real costumes, actual plots and some degree of acting – all things that were notable absent from spanking films at the time. By putting in ten times the effort other studios were, Lupus elevated the genre significantly.

Actual Plot!

Most of the films produced by Lupus Pictures have more than just a token plot. In fact, almost all of their major films actually have a story, and its generally a story that’s a lot more imaginative and original than most spanking porn films.

Lupus Pictures films are characterised by long, lingering shots, twist endings, and a fair bit of humour. That said, some of their work is deadly serious as well.

Depth of history

Lupus Pictures makes spanking porn that is informed by the history of the Czech Republic (now Czechia) – a country that suffered greatly during the world wars, and struggled under oppressive communist rule in the years after World War Two.

This rich (and in many ways very dark) history lends itself well to some fabulously dark spanking porn. Lupus Pictures are particularly known for their trio of films “Stalin”, “Stalin (Two)”, and “Stalin (Three)”. These tell the story of various women who are punished by the communist regime for the crime of defacing a portrait of Stalin.

They are strange, dark, troubling films to watch. They don’t downplay or dress up the horrors of communist rule, but they also don’t forget that they’re porn. They remain as erotic as they are complicated. It’s a bizarre experience, and one that marks Lupus out from other spanking studios that stick to “safe” settings for their work.

A timeline of Lupus spanking films

Lupus Pictures started life as Rigid East (although some suggest the name would be better translated as “Strict East”) in 1997, with videos released on VHS and DVD.

After experiencing some degree of success, they changed their name to Lupus Pictures, and also bumped up production quality significantly. Lupus Pictures, in fact, remade and reimagined a few Rigid East films to take advantage of their new budget and capability.

Most Lupus Pictures films begin with their production logo – a wolf howling at the moon. This ties in with their slogan: “Werewolves from the East” which can also be read as “We’re wolves from the East.” Though the Czech Republic is more central than eastern Europe, the description still works.

The work of Lupus Pictures quickly became legendary in the spanking world. The quality and depth of their films far outstripped anything else available on the market at the time, and they rapidly became an extremely popular studio.

After producing around 60 films as Lupus Pictures, the studio took a new direction with their Lupus Dreams series – films which branched out from spanking and caning and featured more sexual content.

In 2013, Lupus Dreams came to an end, and the studio rebranded again, becoming QuirkyWay. The stated goal of QuirkyWay was to produce some of “the best BDSM movies you ever saw”. They also sold remastered versions of the original Lupus Pictures and Rigid East films.

At the time of writing, the status of QuirkyWay is uncertain. A message on the QuirkyWay website promises a brand new site sometime in June 2023, but June 2023 has come and gone with no news. Perhaps the studio is gone forever… or perhaps they’re just taking some time to come up with something really spectacular.

Is Lupus spanking porn ethical?

Short answer: yes. As always with porn that is even remotely kinky, concerns are rife that the spanking models featured don’t actually want to be there, and are instead starving Czechoslovakian peasants coerced into taking a beating so that they can afford a loaf of bread.

These rumours are peddled by people who either have a ridiculously outmoded vision of Czech life and culture, or are perturbed by pretty much anything that isn’t American.

There’s no evidence at all that Lupus Pictures ever coerced anyone into being in a film. At the time of writing QuirkyWay (the current iteration of Lupus Pictures) is in maintenance mode. You’d normally be able to buy remastered versions of Lupus films from there. The Rigid East era

The very first tranche of spanking films produced by the studio that would go on to become Lupus Pictures.

The Headmaster’s Study Series

A separate short-lived series of films that focus solely on the “headmaster’s study” setting – one of the most popular settings for films produced by Rigid East and Lupus Pictures.
